A male broadnose sevengill shark that is 1.9 metres in length.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4775\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4775\" style=\"width: 1030px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4775\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mikehorn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/DIM_8016-1030x686.jpg\" alt=\"Shark project in Cape Town, South Africa  with Alison and her team from shark spotters on board of Pangaea with Mike Horn and Young Explores.\" width=\"1030\" height=\"686\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4775\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The shark is brought on board in order to complete the tagging procedure. An audio tag is placed under the skin in order to track the shark\u2019s movements. These tags communicate with receivers that are on the ocean floor. It is important to ensure that the shark is in a good enough shape to swim away by itself.
