{"id":1408,"date":"2013-07-19T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-19T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.mikehorn.com\/?p=1408"},"modified":"2013-07-19T22:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-07-19T22:00:00","slug":"peru-project-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mikehorn.com\/en\/peru-project-day-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Peru Project &#8211; Day 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tYoung Explorers Blog &#8211; Day 2<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-family:\nArial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US\">The day started with a quick shower, a nice family breakfast, and a van waiting for us at the front door. &nbsp;We, the Young Explorers, headed to the airport to meet Franco and a student from UC Sur to catch our plane to Tumbes, where our amazing journey through the northern region of this fantastic country begun. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 13pt; \">\n\t<span style=\"font-family:\nArial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US\">On our late arrival Michael and Roberto were waiting for us with the Jeeps and all the camping equipment ready. &nbsp;We had a quick briefing about teamwork and what is required to succeed as a group during the expedition. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US\">After a quick traditional Peruvian lunch, &ldquo;Lomosaltado&rdquo;, we headed straight to the Algarrobo&rsquo;s control station at the National Sanctuary, Los Manglares de Tumbes, where our campsite was located. There, the park ranger in the SERNANP (National Service of Natural Protected Areas) gave us a brief introduction of the mangroves region.
