Spot Image is teaming up with Mike Horn and his young explorers to utilize their capabilities as a satellite operator and geographic information provider to support Pangaea projects all around the world.Spot Image contributions to the Pangaea exhibition will include, satellite imagery of research sites and of the expedition in action at various points along the route, geospatial and geographic expertise, and support from Planet Action project teams around the globe.
Planet Action is a nonprofit, collaborative initiative founded by Spot Image to combat the effects of global climate change and to encourage people to engage in action. There are currently 70+ scientific, climate change related projects using donated SPOT imagery to assess the effects of climate change in their communities. Many of these projects are located in areas that will be studied by Mike and his team of young explorers. This makes for an instant fit with Spot Image, Planet Action and the Pangaea Exhibition.
