1990 Mike travels to Europe and works as a river guide and ski instructor.
1991 Paragliding and rafting expedition; 3 month expedition in the Peruvian Andes.
1994 Mike becomes a member of the ‘Sector No Limits Team’.
Mont Blanc Glacier; Descent from 4’800m altitude to the French Riviera on a hydrospeed.
1995 Mike opens the ‘No Limits Outdoor Activity Center’ in Switzerland.
1995 Colca Canyon Expedition; First to hydrospeed the deepest canyon in the world.
Pacuare Expedition; First complete descent of the upper Pacuare River in Costa Rica.
The highest waterfall ever to be done on a hydrospeed (22m).
1997 Amazon Expedition; 6 month solo traverse of Sth America on a hydrospeed.
1999 Latitude Zero; 16 month, non-motorized solo expedition around the world along the equator.
2000 Audience with Pope Jean-Paul II.
2001 Attempted record crossing of Greenland with Erhard Loretan and Jean Troillet.
Mike wins ‘Laureus World Alternative Sportsperson of the Year’ award.
2002 Arktos Expedition; 27 month, 40’000km trek around the Arctic Circle without motor or animals.
2005 Bylot Expedition. Mike and his family traverse Bylot Island on skis .
2006 North Pole Winter Expedition; First-ever night expedition to the North Pole starting from Russia.
2007 Youngest ever North Pole expedition. Mike and his family walk from Barneo Base to North Pole.
Mike is elected member of the Laureus World Sports Academy
Himalayan Expedition; two 8’000 m summits without oxygen, Gasherbrun I, Gasherbrun II.
2009 Mike treks from Hercules Inlet to the South Pole, Antarctica.
September - Mike awarded ‘Personality of the Seas 2009’ by H.S.H. Prince Albert II.
2010 Mike summits 3rd 8'000 meter Himalayan Peak without additional oxygen, Broad Peak.
